A test excavation was carried out in advance of a single house development on a site c. 400m west of Lough Gur at Grange, Bruff. The investigation comprised four mechanically excavated cuttings aligned east–west in the areas to be directly affected by construction work. The stripping of the topsoil to the surface of the boulder clay in each case did not reveal any material of archaeological interest.
