This field (field 12) was investigated as part of pre-development testing in advance of the Limerick Southern Ring-Road Project. In all, 62 trenches, each measuring 10m by 10m, were excavated by mechanical excavator. Five of the trenches contained deposits of archaeological significance, which were subsequently excavated under licence 00E0851 ext. by Avril Hayes (see No. 780, Excavations 2001).
