Monitoring was undertaken of ground disturbance at Coolrus, Co. Limerick. The owners of the site had obtained planning permission to commence quarrying here, subject to all groundworks being monitored. Three known archaeological sites lie within the development site. A 20m exclusion zone has been placed around each of them.
An internal roadway and c. 1ha of topsoil was stripped. Nothing of archaeological significance was uncovered in the course of monitoring the removal of topsoil.
