Monitoring of the groundworks associated with a single dwelling development at Clonshire Beg, Adare, was undertaken in August 2001. Six trenches were excavated to a depth of 0.5m to the level of the undisturbed natural boulder clay. Despite the fact that the site is adjacent to a medieval church and graveyard and in the locality of two tower-houses, nothing of archaeological significance was noted.
