Monitoring was carried out during topsoil-stripping and excavation for the foundations of the Tomrud section of the N16 road-widening scheme. Road development consisted mainly of widening the existing road on both sides to a maximum of 13.5m, with the subsoil being disturbed to a maximum depth of 3.1m. Nothing of significance was noted during the course of monitoring.
