Pre-construction testing was undertaken as part of a road-widening scheme in the townland of Tomrud, Manorhamilton. The road-widening stretch extended for a length of 1km and took in the existing road verge and a maximum width of 10m into the fields bounding the existing road edge.
Thirty-two test-trenches were opened. Most were sited in boggy terrain. No archaeological remains were revealed in any of the opened trenches.
