Monitoring of trenching for ducts to facilitate floodlighting was carried out on behalf of Dúchas. The trenches ran from the modern Visitor Centre to the south wall of the Abbey church. The trenches continued along the south and west sides of the church, with offsets out into the post-Reformation graveyard at the south.
No structural features were uncovered, or any in situ burials. Finds mainly consisted of medieval line-impressed tiles, several of types not previously recorded at Jerpoint. Of significance was the extent of 19th-century conservation works as evidenced by vast quantities of building rubble redeposited around the site.
