A series of test-trenches were excavated on the site, by mechanical digger, in advance of development. The stratigraphy noted generally consisted of a layer of concrete (0.2m) overlying 0.3m of loose gravel and sand. This in turn overlay a loose rubble fill (0.25m). No features or deposits of archaeological interest were noted.
