Pre-construction testing was undertaken in a large greenfield site on the outskirts of the village of Sallins. Planning permission had been granted for a large-scale housing development. The testing works were carried out pursuant to the planning permission. There is no known archaeological monument on the site, which was formerly occupied by a meat plant.
Nine test-trenches were opened on the site. No archaeological remains were revealed. The site had been heavily disturbed by building works for the meat plant.
