Test excavation in advance of construction of a new industrial park to be developed c. 3km south of Maynooth town was requested owing to the identification from aerial photography of a field system along the southern boundary of the development site. Previous test excavation (Excavations 2000, No. 502, 00E0330) by Angela Wallace revealed no finds or features of archaeological significance. Subsequent monitoring in November/December 2000 and further test excavation in a previously inaccessible area of the site in late May 2001 produced no finds, features or structures of any archaeological significance.
