This site was discovered during monitoring of topsoil removal on the Celbridge Interchange Scheme. The site, a corn-drying kiln which utilised an earlier ditch, covered an area roughly 17.5m by 8.5m.
The kiln was L-shaped, measuring 4.5m east–west by 3.8m, and included the usual features, such as a fire-bowl, located on its eastern side and measuring 0.95m in diameter. The kiln varied in depth from 0.4m to 1.2m. It also incorporated a number of other features, including a stone lining which was up to three courses in depth and respected the L-shape of the kiln. However, this lining was found only on the upper levels of the kiln and only on the northern and western sides. At the base of the flue on its western side was a circular pit 0.6m in diameter and 0.3m in depth. The lower fills were rich in charred cereal grains but contained no finds.
