Test-trenches were excavated as part of an archaeological assessment to fulfil a request from Tralee UDC. The development site is located on the northern side of Tralee, within the zone of archaeological potential for the town. It is bounded by Edward Street to the west and John-Joe Sheehy Road to the north. Ten test-trenches, measuring on average 10m by 2m, were excavated across the entire area of the site. No archaeological stratigraphy or artefacts were recorded.
