Monitoring of ground disturbance associated with the development of a dwelling-house was undertaken at Tarmons East, Tarbert, Co. Kerry. A well, marked as ‘Tobermartin’, is located to the south-west of the site. The landowner was unaware of any tradition or saint associated with the well.
A circular pit measuring 0.7m in diameter by 0.3m deep was recorded during monitoring of the house platform and entrance. The edges of the pit were burned but no traces of charcoal or artefacts were recovered. No additional archaeological stratigraphy or artefacts were recorded.
