The monitoring of groundworks for a house site at Killaha East, Kenmare, was undertaken in February 2001. The development site was within the zone of archaeological potential for a possible enclosure. The monument survives as a semicircular curving stone wall c. 1m in height. No trace of an encircling ditch was found. The area for development was stripped to a purple sandy gravel, which was the naturally occurring parent material on the site. All foundation trenches were excavated into this material. Nothing of an archaeological nature was uncovered during the monitoring.
