Eight areas of archaeological potential in the site of the pump house were recorded during the monitoring of the Ballyheigue Sewerage Scheme. The site of the pump house is approximately 2km west of Ballyheigue in the townland of Dromatoor. An enclosure, SMR 14:56, lies in the field to the west of the site. It is depicted on the first edition OS map as a raised bank with external ditch.
Modern agricultural activity, in the form of field boundaries and drains, was recorded in Areas 1 and 5. A fragment of flint was recovered from the ploughsoil in Area 1. Natural geological features were recorded in Areas 3, 6, 7 and 8. Pits, which were archaeological in nature, were recorded in Areas 2 and 4; both were similar in size and form. No material for dating was recovered from either pit.
