Kerry Algae received planning permission to construct a seaweed-processing plant at Curraheen, Tralee, with an outfall pipe to discharge into Tralee Bay. The excavation of the outfall pipe was monitored to comply with the planning condition. The route of the pipe followed the line of a stream until it discharged into Tralee Bay. A ‘ford’ is marked on the second edition OS map at the mouth of the stream. A row of stones, c. 20m long, was recorded to the east of the mouth of the stream, on the shore above high-water mark. The stones were set in an upright position in a discontinuous line, running parallel to the shore.
Nothing of archaeological significance was recorded.
