During the course of monitoring, to comply with the planning condition for a housing development, this previously unknown fulacht fiadh was uncovered and excavated. The mound was composed of six burnt spreads and included fragments of sandstone and charcoal. It measured c. 8m north–south by 8m and was on average 0.4m deep. There was an oval trough, which had been recut, on the eastern side of the mound. A number of large stones, possibly serving as a kerb, were found partially covered by the mound. A stone trackway measuring 2.6m by 1.9m was recorded to the north of the latter. This is the first known trackway recorded in association with a fulacht fiadh in County Kerry.
