Cahirsiveen Marina and Water Activity Centre was granted a foreshore lease to construct a marina to the west of the New Quay at Cahersiveen, Co. Kerry. Permission was granted to extend the marina to the east. An archaeological assessment was undertaken to comply with a planning condition. The area, which was fully exposed, was walked at low tide. It consisted of soft mud and silts partially covered by seaweed. New Quay and a large breakwater bordered the area. No archaeological features were recorded within the area surveyed.
