Monitoring of ground disturbance activity of a housing development was undertaken at Banshagh, Killorglin, Co. Kerry, east of Killorglin town. Phase 1 of this development consists of an area of 3.57 acres on which 28 semi-detached houses are to be built. During the course of monitoring one discrete area of potential archaeology was uncovered and excavated. This was located in the north-western quadrant of the development and consisted of a small dark charcoal spread. No archaeological artefacts were recovered.
