Monitoring took place on the site of a proposed dwelling-house at Coolsrahra on 26 May 2001. The work was halted after it was discovered that the proposed dwelling-house lay within the north-west quadrant of an early ecclesiastical enclosure. At this point a 10m by 3m strip near the proposed entranceway had been topsoil-stripped, exposing a natural undisturbed stratigraphy. Following discussions with DĂșchas, it was agreed to resolve the matter by respecting a 20m zone around the enclosure and siting the house elsewhere.
