A proposal to erect 28 dwelling-houses at Barnswellgrove, Mountbellew, required the monitoring of all groundworks as part of an enclosure was situated in a segment of the field being developed. The area occupied by the outline of the enclosure was not affected by the groundworks but most of the 1.8-acre field was. There was no trace of any features or artefacts of any archaeological significance from the soil disturbance.
