Pre-development testing at the site of a proposed dwelling-house, garage, septic tank and percolation area was carried out on 5 April 2001 at Ballymore, Craughwell, Co. Galway. The site is within the constraint area of RMP 96:2, a ringfort.
Pre-development testing consisted of the mechanical excavation of four trenches which were 7–20m long, 1m wide and 0.6m deep. The stratigraphy exposed consisted of natural gravels below the topsoil. Nothing of archaeological significance was in evidence.
