Test excavation in advance of construction of part of the North Fringe Sewer took place in late September 2000 (Excavations 2000, No. 238). Further test excavation in a previously inaccessible area of the site was carried out in early February 2001. Two trenches were excavated by mechanical digger. In no trench were finds, features or structures of any archaeological significance uncovered.
