Test excavation at the site of No. 20 St Patrick’s Road was requested owing to its location within the medieval town of Dalkey. The site (10m x 9m) is located on the east side of St Patrick’s Road and until recently had been occupied by a single-storey structure. The structure was demolished after a building survey had taken place. Four trenches were excavated by mechanical digger. In no trench were finds, features or structures of any archaeological significance uncovered.
