An assessment was carried out on Phase 2 of a proposed residential development at St Laurence Road, Chapelizod, Dublin 20. A single trench was excavated. Two 19th–20th-century rubbish pits were exposed beneath a layer of modern hard core and rubble. These had been cut into a layer of 19th–20th-century coarse brown clay, which in turn overlay a thick layer of brown sandy clay and the orange boulder clay. The concrete foundation wall of the warehouse was exposed to the south of the trench and a 19th-century brick foundation wall was exposed in the eastern section. This wall is likely to be associated with the piggery that was once on the site. No archaeological features or deposits were exposed and all the finds recovered were 19th–20th-century in date.
