Monitoring was carried out on behalf of Donegal County Council and the NRA at the location of the eastern road junction with Mountcharles village to the west of the location of the giant deer remains as described in Excavations 2000 (No. 188). Deep deposits of peat were removed during construction works associated with the Mountcharles/N56 Bypass.
Nothing of archaeological significance was observed during the course of monitoring.
