The RNLI station at Youghal was recorded and photographed in advance of its demolition. The building was constructed in 1876 as a lifeboat station but now is too small for the modern needs of the RNLI. As the slipway was to be altered and extended, an intertidal survey of the area in front of the building was carried out. A partially buried anchor on the foreshore was identified as possibly early in date but was later found to be a mooring anchor which was to be used by the RNLI. The demolition of the buildings and all subsurface disturbance on the site was monitored. No archaeological finds or features were noted.
