The proposed development site lies in and around a levelled ringfort at Moneygurney, Cork. A geophysical survey identified the ditch of the ringfort and several anomalies. Five test-trenches were opened by a mechanical digger to investigate these anomalies. No finds or features were identified in these trenches. The anomalies identified in the geophysical survey were found to be of shaly rock in each of the trenches. The development was designed around the ringfort, avoiding it.
