The site was originally identified during monitoring of topsoil-stripping on the N8 Glanmire– Watergrasshill Road Scheme. A flint blade was found on the site, associated with a discrete spread of charcoal; a small number of other linear features were also revealed.
Following excavation the linear features proved to be land drains running on several alternative alignments. The charcoal spread related to a demolished field boundary. No additional finds were revealed. The flint scraper located on the site appears to have been a chance find. The site was of little archaeological significance.
