The proposed development site lies within the zone of archaeological potential for a fish palace. The remains of the fish palace comprise a series of fourteen niches cut into a vertical rock face on the south side of the site. Four test-trenches were excavated by mechanical digger along the footprint of the proposed development c. 30m north of the fish palace. Nothing of an archaeological nature was noted in the test-trenches.
