Toureen House underwent extensive renovations during 2001 and 2002. An archaeological and architectural survey of the building was carried out. In addition, groundworks associated with the renovations—pipe-laying, driveway and external ancillary works to accommodate the insertion of underground heating—were monitored.

No archaeological remains were revealed in the course of the external groundworks.
