Monitoring was carried out during topsoil-stripping for the construction of the new Bord Gáis Éireann ‘Pipeline to the West’. A previously unidentified fulacht fiadh was found. The site consisted of an oval spread of burnt stone lying above a stone-lined trough or pit. It was subsequently excavated by the writer in 2002 (02E0087), and will be reported on in the Excavations bulletin for 2002.
