This work involved pre-development testing of potential archaeological features identified during the field survey component of an archaeological impact assessment. The proposed development comprises 60 detached houses and related services on a large site within the zone of archaeological potential for the medieval centre of Quin. Ten test-trenches were excavated across the southern portion of the site to investigate a number of linear and curved features. All trenches, excavated to a depth of only 0.1–0.3m, revealed that these features were all bedrock. No archaeological materials or features were uncovered.
