The proposed development of 111 houses had a general monitoring condition for all related groundworks. A ringfort is located in the north-eastern corner of the site and will be protected by a 30m buffer zone. As the development will take place in stages over a number of years, DĂșchas agreed to intensive testing in place of monitoring, in an attempt to identify any subsurface archaeological remains. Thirteen test-trenches ranging in length from 60m to 100m were excavated across the site, touching upon all proposed house foundations. All trenches were excavated to a depth of between 0.4m and 0.6m. No archaeological remains or materials were uncovered.
