A proposed house development adjacent to the borough of St Mullins required pre-development test excavation. The development site is located on the east side and at the edge of the archaeological zone surrounding the cluster of monuments in St Mullins, on the side of a steep valley on the east bank of the River Barrow. Before test excavation no archaeological features were evident on the ground. Test-trenching indicated that the site was devoid of archaeological remains.
