The Hacketstown Water Scheme required the routing of a new pipeline through fields, across a stream and along sections of roadways, as well as the construction of a new reservoir and associated access road, etc. Monitoring of topsoil-stripping and the excavation of engineering trial-pits associated with the scheme was undertaken from 20 September to 30 October 2001. No features or finds of archaeological interest were uncovered during the course of the work.
