An archaeological assessment was carried out on a proposed residential housing development site at Portadown Road, at the north-west corner of the historic town of Tandragee, Co. Armagh, on 6 July 2001. Four assessment trenches were mechanically excavated. No archaeological features, deposits or finds were revealed. Surprisingly little variation was noted in the nature and sequence of the deposits across the site, including an apparent absence of field drains. No further archaeological work was carried out at the site before or during development.
