An assessment was undertaken at the rear of 36–38 Donegall Place, prior to redevelopment. The façade of the upstanding building will be preserved within the development. The footprint of the building and the area of the lift shaft were monitored for any potential surviving archaeological deposits. Nothing of archaeological significance was identified.
