The area tested lies in undulating pasture c. 70m to the east of SMR 8:14, a church and graveyard. Testing took place at this site in the area corresponding to the proposed pipeline corridor. The pipeline corridor will enter this field from the north, abutting the boundary fences of the residential properties to the east. It runs south through a rather deep depression with gradually sloping sides, which lies to the east of the recorded monument, and then proceeds to the south.
Seven trenches were opened, sited on the corridor and not extending beyond the limits of the pipeline. It would appear conclusive from the testing that the proposed pipeline corridor at this location will not disturb any archaeological features, strata or deposits.
