Archaeological testing was undertaken along the route of a 7.5km N25 realignment, between the townlands of Rathsillagh and Harristown Little, Co. Wexford. Ten previously unknown sites were revealed, including two corn-drying kilns (see Excavations 2000, Nos 1041 and 1062), a medieval moated settlement (see Excavations 2000, No. 1047), two burnt mound spreads (see Excavations 2000, Nos 1040 and 1056) and various prehistoric and medieval settlement sites (see Excavations 2000, No. 1039 and below Nos 1057, 1060 and 1061). A levelled limekiln site (see Excavations 2000, No. 1042) was also inspected. Archaeological monitoring of the topsoil-stripping revealed a third corn-drying kiln (see Excavations 2000, No. 1046) and three prehistoric sites (see Excavations 2000, Nos 1043–5), all within the same townland.

In addition, four sites of post-medieval date were recorded under this licence—an extant limekiln, a roadside three-bay, two-storey farmhouse, a ruinous farm complex and a small single-span bridge. These structures were all due to be demolished as a consequence of the scheme. All were recorded by photograph, scale drawing and written description, and full reports were submitted to Dúchas The Heritage Service and the National Museum of Ireland.
