A small area of archaeological interest was revealed during monitoring of topsoil-stripping during the development of a water-tower on the site. Two features were revealed, which appear to represent Neolithic activity in the area: a small hearth, 0.72m by 0.5m and 0.14m deep, and a small pit, within 4m of the hearth, measuring 0.31m by 0.34m and 0.15m deep. Several sherds of probably Early Neolithic pottery were found in the pit and the surrounding topsoil. Several pieces of worked stone were found in the hearth and in surrounding topsoil. Analysis of charcoal recovered from the site suggests that the environmental conditions represented on the site are consistent with a Neolithic landscape.
