This site was found as part of the work conducted under licence 00E0379 (see Excavations 2000, No. 1068). Situated at the base of the south-facing slope of a small valley, it was c. 10m west of a small stream. It was initially thought that this monument might have been a fulacht fiadh because of its proximity to a stream and the presence of fire-shattered stone. Upon excavation several pits containing industrial waste material associated with the production of metal were uncovered. However, there was no evidence for in situ production. There appear to have been three different phases of pit activity. One of the large pits may have been a trough.
