Eight areas of archaeological potential were identified while monitoring the topsoil clearance associated with the N4 Realignment and Widening Scheme. Area F consisted of a burnt hearth and associated pit; the hearth was partially destroyed by the construction company. Only the base of the hearth was identified. This was stone-lined; the stones possibly functioned as pot-holders or baking stones. The associated pit was oval in plan and appeared to have functioned as a rubbish pit for the fire debris. Post-medieval pottery was retrieved from the base of this pit, indicating that the area itself was post-medieval in date.
