Intermittent monitoring of maintenance dredging at Cheekpoint Lower and Duncannon Bar in Waterford Harbour in 2000 recovered a series of five timbers and one metal piece from Duncannon Bar. The pieces complement two timbers recovered in 1999 and represent a variety of different vessels, most probably coastal traders of 19th-century date. Underwater assessment of part of Duncannon Bar sought to identify the source(s) of the timbers. Further monitoring on Duncannon is planned.
