Outline planning permission for 140 houses and full planning penmission for 25 bungalows and 16 starter units was granted by Waterford County Council to a 9-acre site, without archaeological conditions attached. DĂșchas The Heritage Service recommended an archaeological input, and a monitoring licence was issued.

Early monitoring revealed a spread of burnt stone with a 10m radius at the corner of the site on the east side. Further monitoring of the site was held in abeyance while the owners decided the strategy to be adopted in relation to the feature exposed.
