As part of an assessment (including building survey), test-pits were cut inside and outside a mid/late 19th-century, three-storey building in Mary Street, Dungarvan. The ground level had risen considerably during construction of the building, apparently infilling an early 19th-century limestone quarry beside the road. A cobbled surface in one test-pit, pressed into clay subsoil, is probably associated with the quarry. No earlier activity was represented.
