Monitoring of the foundations for a house extension took place in early November. The site was in a farmyard, adjacent to a fine example of a tower-house. The tower had been used as one of the farm buildings, and, from the surviving original doorways, it was possible to say that the ground level within the building had been lowered by c. 0.8m. Along the north wall, facing into the yard, the base of the foundations was exposed, showing that here too there had been extensive lowering of ground levels at some time in the past. Excavation of the foundation trenches came immediately upon the clay/gravel subsoil. No features or deposits of archaeological significance were noted.
