Ground disturbance associated with the construction of a supermarket operated by the Lidl company was monitored between August and December 2000. Much of the site consisted of very disturbed material dumped in recent times as landfill, deposited on top of a layer of peat. The subsoil was pale grey mud. No archaeological structures or artefacts were noted during any of the digging activity.
