Test-trenching was carried out on this site in order to ascertain the period in which a boundary wall was constructed and to find out if it reflected a pre-existing medieval boundary. This action was requested following a decision by the owner to demolish this wall as part of a larger building project.

Five test-trenches were excavated, and there was evidence to suggest that the boundary wall was post-medieval, although it appeared to have been built on two earlier structures at its southern end. At the northern end there was evidence to suggest that the wall had been built upon a post-medieval layer. Archaeological remains were found at the southern end of the wall at a depth of c. 0.9m below the present ground level.

A recommendation was made that the development be designed to minimise impact on the archaeological deposits identified.
