Monitoring of an extension to a dwelling-house was carried out at No. 1 Rock Villas, Cashel, on 17 and 25 August 2000 in response to a condition of planning. No traces of any archaeological features or artefacts were found. However, an unexpected discovery was a deep stratum of fine sand found beneath the garden soil across the whole site.
